Motor City Masters Makes Car Designing A Reality
Most young boys – and some girls – dream about designing the next supercar or energy efficient car or energy efficient supercar or just a cool looking car that reminds everybody of the 1950s and 1960s automotive designing heyday. Today’s generation of budding automotive designers can get the chance to show their stuff on “Motor City Masters”, a car designing reality show that will be debuting on truTV next month. In collaboration with Chevrolet, budding automotive designers will be given tasks which will then be judged by industry professionals as well as celebrity judges.
Hosted by Brooke Burns [“Baywatch”], the show will follow a different theme every week, such as designing a car that could be used in the upcoming “Transformers: Age of Extinction” movie, become a Hot Wheels car or turning a Chevy SS into a NASCAR racing machine. Designs will be judged by a pair of head judges – Automobile Magazine editor, Jean Jennings and renowned automotive designer, Harald Belker – who will be joined throughout the series’ season by a slew of celebrity judges to include professional race driver Robby Gordon, Melissa Joan Hart [“Sabrina, The Teenage Witch”], Jesse Metcalfe [“Dallas”] and Pete Wentz [from musical group Fall Out Boy]. Competitors will eventually be whittled down to a final two contestants with the selected winner receiving a 2014 Camaro Z28 and $100,000 cash as well as being anointed a General Motors brand amabassador for major auto show exhibitions.
Overall, 10 episodes of the show have been ordered and the premiere episode of “Motor City Masters” will be at 10 p.m. on truTV on June 24, 2014.
