NASCAR has fallen so far from what it once was.

Lucky dog, provisionals, 35 locked in the field, phoney debris cautions the Mickey-mouse “Chase” are all artificial manipulations of the on-track racing.

The “sport” caters to the sponsors, not the fans. They race in lucrative markets instead of on good tracks, it has become too much like a scripted reality show as opposed to proper racing. What a shame

Well, I will say this – the whole “here’s how the points would be if you flipped a switch and went to the old system” argument doesn’t fly at all.

The main reason for that is because, if the drivers are told the points are reset at race 26, and that wins are critical, they will race differently. They will take chances they wouldn’t normally take if the season was 36 races long.

It’s a nice idea to think about, but the Chase and Non-Chase season scenarios are two different beasts altogether.

You could also add 2 more championships if it wasn’t of that damn Chase.

My favorite thing is that when Dale Sr via Richard Childress started a start and park car in Atlanta to assure his 7th championship that was okay by NASCAR.

LMAO Yeah, Gordon sucks. Goddamn those 87 wins and 4 championships are awful.

As a Gordon fan, I will say that he doesn’t exactly deserve a Chase spot based on how he ran this year. On that same note, neither do Newman or Truex, but I won’t go there with the Chase argument… it’s too big a can o’ worms. heheh

There is no guarantee that Gordon would have held the spot. That said, if Gordon dumps Bowyer at Chicagoland, everyone should be applauding even if Gordon is parked.

Do some research, Clint Bowyer was riding on his brakes and jerking around. And isn’t it a little fishy that when his spotter said to “Itch it” he spun out a half a lap later.

You people are idots! Clint did not spin on purpose!! Did you ever see him jerk the wheel! No and as to the audio his crew chief was referring to the poison oak he had all over his arm!! Maybe we should hear the audio from the 48 when he hit the wall running laps down while clint and brad were pitting they were leading 1and2 at the time !! So give it up 24 fans!!

the problem lies with nascar allowing a team to field multiple cars.. In the old days a team would drive up with a tow behind trailer, and one car.. Now its too comercialized.. How can it be alright for two or three cars from the same team to draft with each other and gain an advantage on the other cars, and it not be alright to spin out to cause the effect you want… MWR was fined for manipulating the outcome of the race… These teams manipulate the race outcome every week..
