1956 Sebring SR-2 Corvette Goes On The Block

A 1956 Corvette built exclusively for racing is being auctioned next month. The 1956 Sebring SR-2 Corvette was built by General Motors specifically foe racing [although it was not the first Corvette to actually be used in a race]. This particular Corvette has a 331 [5.4-liter] V8 and is one of three built and raced in SCCA competitions.

Bidding will begin at $6.885 million for the car at Scottsdale Sport & Classic Autocars on January 12-14, 2015.
