1963 Ferrari 250 GTO Goes For $70 Million

A 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO that won the Tour de France has been purchased for $70 million by Chicago-based David MacNeil [founder and CEO of WeatherTech – which makes floor mats for vehicles]. Only 39 Ferrari 250 GTO’s were built between 1962 and 1964.

MacNeil adds the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO to his collection which is reported to include several other Ferraris – a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, a 250 GT Lusso, a 275 GTB, a 365 GTB/4 “Daytona,” an F40, and an F50.

MacNeil now joins the select club of the other 38 Ferrari 250 GTO owners which includes Ralph Lauren, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and British billionaire Lord Anthony Bamford [who made his billions from his family’s construction vehicle manufacturing company].
