1967 Toyota 2000 GT Car At The Los Angeles Auto Show

A classic 1967 Toyota 2000 GT is making a rare appearance at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show – only 337 were ever produced and of those, only 54 were brought to North America.

The Toyota 2000 GT was originally conceived as a concept car in 1965 then – before it was made available to the general public – a couple were commissioned in 1966 for an appearance in the James Bond film “You Only Live Twice” where at least one of the cars had to have its roof chopped off and made into a convertible after it was discovered actor Sean Connery was too tall for the roofline and, therefore, filming the required chase scenes.

The Los Angeles Auto Show continues at the Los Angeles Convention Center through November 30, 2014.
