2020 Chinese Grand Prix Likely To Be Re-Scheduled Due To Coronavirus

With no definitive ending to the coronavirus outbreak on the horizon, Formula One has indicated that the 2020 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai – currently scheduled to be held April 19, 2020 – is likely to be re-scheduled.

F1 managing director Ross Brawn says Formula 1 will look to reschedule the Chinese Grand Prix if it cannot be held on its original date because of the coronavirus outbreak – which has killed more than 560 people to date.

“If there is a probability it doesn’t happen in April, we will leave open the opportunity to see if the race can run later in the year,” said Brawn.

F1 is now waiting for the Chinese promoter and authorities to make a decision on the race – which they expect to happen “in the next week or two.”
