The 2020 Formula One racing season could get underway as soon as July 5 with the Austrian Grand Prix – albeit, without spectators at the Red Bull Ring.
Formula 1’s newest plan to start the 2020 racing season would be to hold the Austrian Grand Prix as scheduled on July 5, 2020 at the Red Bull Ring due to the country of Austria recently easing their lockdown restrictions in regard to the Covid-19 virus – however, the race would still be devoid of spectators.
That race could then be followed by the British Grand Prix – and possibly two races at Silverstone – but both without spectators as well.
So far, the first nine races of the season have all been either cancelled or postponed due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak [and the French Grand Prix is expected to become the 10th race to join that group though an official announcement has yet to be made].
The tentative plan was outlined to teams by F1 bosses at a meeting yesterday.
