2020 French Grand Prix Expected To Be Postponed Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

The 2020 French Grand Prix is expected to become the next – and the 10th – Formula One event to be cancelled and/or postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

No official statement has yet been issued by the race’s organizers but French President Emmanuel Macron said that restrictions on public events would continue until mid-July – the 2020 French Grand prix is currently scheduled to be held at the Circuit Paul Ricard, near Marseille, on June 28, 2020.

Depending on the development of the coronavirus outbreak, Formula 1 is hoping to begin the 2020 racing season in Europe in the summer, albeit with the likelihood that the first few races could be held without spectators.

So far, only one race – the 2020 Monaco Grand Prix – has been officially cancelled, with the other nine races [if the French Grand Prix is included] only potentially postponed.
