A Return To The 1-2 Mercedes Snoozer Finishes Off The 2017 F1 Season In Abu Dhabi

It was back to the bad old Formula One days with a 1-2 Mercedes snoozer finish in the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Valtteri Bottas did the honors this time, finishing in front of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton – with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel a distant third to finish off the podium.

The race was much like the result – trance-inducing – as there was virtually no movement in most of the grid, particularly in the podium positions, where there was no movement whatsoever from their starting positions. The only drama of the race came when Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo touched a wall and knocked himself out of the race, giving fourth place in the 2017 Formula One driver standings to Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

With Bottas’ victory, the final 2017 F1 driver standings have Hamilton in front with 363 points to 317 for Vettel in second and 305 for Bottas in third. Raikkonen beats Ricciardo for fourth, 205-200.
