ABT Collabs With CUPRA For 2023 Formula E Season

ABT Sportsline and Spanish automaker CUPRA will collaborate to produce a Formula E car and team for the upcoming 2023 racing season return. The ABT CUPRA Formula E team will make their first public appearance with the new look at the series’ official test in Valencia, Spain.

ABT racked up 47 podium finishes as an inaugural member of the 2014 Formula E grid and had previously collaborated with Audi in Formula E but Audi departed the racing series after the 2021-22 season. ABT has enjoyed a successful partnership with CUPRA in Extreme E, most recently winning the season finale in Uruguay.

Mahindra Racing will be supplying the powertrain and driving the ABT CUPRA team car will be Dutch racer, Robin Frijns – moving over from Envision Racing – and German Nico Mueller.

Formula E is CUPRA’s third entry into an all-electric championship, with competition in both FIA’s ETCR and Extreme E racing series.

The ninth season of Formula E is slated to begin on January 14, 2023 in Mexico City with brand new Gen3 cars.
