Alfa Romeo Sauber Becomes Sauber For 2024 Formula One Season

After collaborating with Alfa Romeo since the 2019 season, the Swiss-based Sauber team has dropped Alfa Romeo and reverted to their original name for the 2024 Formula One season.

Sauber is making the move as they prepare to transition into becoming the factory Audi team for the 2026 Formula One season but Audi does not want to be officially associated with the team until Audi formally enters the championship in 2026.

For the 2024 [and presumably 2025] Formula 1 seasons, the new official team name will be Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber and the chassis will be called a Kick Sauber.

They will continue to use Ferrari engines until the transition to Audi in 2026, when new F1 rules coming into effect will introduce fully sustainable net-zero carbon synthetic e-fuels and a much greater proportion of hybrid power from the engine – up to about 50% from the current 20%.

Sauber initially entered F1 in the 1993 season.
