All Will Be Right In The Motoring World On November 18

After what seems like eternity but was merely eons, Amazon finally – finally! – announced the launch date of “The Grand Tour”, their new motoring show featuring the former presenters [Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May] of what was then the wildly popular “Top Gear” BBC motoring show, and that date is November 18 – with new episodes released on Amazon Prime Video each Friday.

The first episode will see the hosts in California in their first studio tent recording, with the tent then moving around the world with them for each show [one of which, we already know, is Johannesburg in South Africa]. As for cars in the first episode, Clarkson, Hammond and May will pick up where they left off on “Top Gear” and compare the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. Matt Damon and Charlize Theron are among the show’s roster of guests in the inaugural season.

Clarkson, Hammond and May have committed to three seasons of “The Grand Tour” – for a reported $250 million – as part of a landmark global multimedia deal. Amazon Prime members can watch the show via the Amazon Video app on smart TVs, streaming media players — including FireTV and FireTV Stick — Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Wii, Wii U, on iOS and Android phones and tablets, and on the web.
