Alpha Tauri Launches 2021 Formula One Car

Red Bull’s junior team, Alpha Tauri, has launched their new car – which they have dubbed AT02 – for the upcoming 2021 Formula One racing season.

Alpha Tauri retains French driver Pierre Gasly – who won the chaotic 2020 Italian Grand Prix – and wound up finishing seventh overall in the driver’s championship. It is the 25-year-old’s third season with Alpha Tauri and fourth season overall, after an initial season with Red Bull – he has 64 F1 starts and two podium finishes [a second place showing in the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix to go along with the 2020 Italian Grand Prix victory]. Gasly is one of the six F1 drivers to contract the Covid-19 coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

Joining Gasly will be 20-year-old Japanese newcomer Yuki Tsunoda, who replaces Russian Daniil Kvyat. Tsunoda finished third in his debut season in Formula 2.
