Alpine and Mercedes both announced launch dates for their cars ahead of the 2024 Formula One season – with Alpine debuting their car on February 7, 2024 and Mercedes unveiling their car on February 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mercedes also re-signed current team principal Toto Wolff to a three-year deal to remain as the team principal and chief executive of Mercedes F1 [Wolff also owns a third of Mercedes F1] until the end of the 2026 season.

The 52-year-old Austrian started his stint with Mercedes in January 2013 and Mercedes have won eight Formula 1 constructors’ titles in eight seasons between 2014 and 2021 and finished second behind Red Bull in the most recent 2023 season.

The other two-thirds of the team are owned by Mercedes-Benz and a subsidiary of chemicals company Ineos, which is controlled by Manchester United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Mercedes’ drivers are seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, with Hamilton finishing third in the drivers’ championship last season.

The 2024 F1 season begins with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2, 2024.
