Alpine Fastest In Final Practice Session For 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix

Alpine was the fastest of a confusing final practice session for tomorrow’s 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso doing the honors.

Mercedes’ seven-time defending Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton, had qualified on pole position for today’s sprint race qualifier which will determine the grid for tomorrow’s grand prix race – however Hamilton’s Mercedes car was being put under investigation by the race stewards for an alleged technical infringement on its rear wing while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was being similarly put under investigation after he was caught on video touching the rear wing of both his car and Hamilton’s car after the sprint race qualifier – a breach of the FIA’s International Sporting Code concerning rules touching the cars after qualifying.

Hamilton, is already set to receive a five-place grid penalty for Sunday’s grand prix for taking on an extra engine component and, if his car is found not to comply, he will be sent to the back of the sprint grid. If Verstappen is found guilty of a breach of code conduct, the FIA has not indicated what his penalty may be.
