Another Mercedes-Winning Snoozefest At 2016 Japanese Grand Prix

A Mercedes won another 2016 Formula One as Nico Rosberg led from start-to-finish at the 2016 Japanese Grand Prix, putting himself closer to clinching the 2016 world championship. Rosberg took advantage of a poor start from his Snapchatting Mercedes teammate, Lewis Hamilton, to vault off from the rest of the field and enjoy a mostly easy victory over second place Max Verstappen from Red Bull while Hamilton fought back to eventually claim the third and final position on the podium.

The win by Rosberg clinched the team title for Mercedes.

The victory gives Rosberg a commanding 33-point lead over Hamilton in the season driver’s points standings with Rosberg now sitting at 313 points to Hamilton’s 280 and Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo in a distant third at 207.
