Antonio Felix da Costa Wins 2019 Formula E Season Opener

BMW Motorsport Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa won the ABB FIA Formula E Championship’s 2019 season-opening race in Saudi Arabia.

Defending Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne gave him a run for the money but da Costa, who started in pole position, was able to successfully fend off the Frenchman, while Jerome d’Ambrosio finished in the third and final podium position.

Recently retired from the Formula 1 racing circuit, Felipe Massa finished 14th in his Formula E debut while Stoffel Vandoorne, who was unceremoniously booted from the McLaren-Honda F1 team at the conclusion of the 2018 season, finished 17th in his first e-prix.

The next e-prix is scheduled to be held in Marrakesh, Morocco, on January 12, 2019.
