Aston Martin Continues Collaboration With Bowmore

At the beginning of the year, British luxury car maker [and Formula One sponsor] Aston Martin collaborated with Beam Suntory-owned Bowmore Distillery to create single malt whiskies and the first of those creations was Black Bowmore DB5 1964 – an obvious homage to James Bond, the wildly popular cinematic British superspy character created by Ian Fleming.

Aston Martin and Bowmore now continue that collaboration with the release of a new collection of existing Bowmore 10-, 15- and 18-year-old whiskies that will carry a “Designed by Aston Martin” notation – highlighting iconic Aston Martin cars from the past.

The Bowmore 10 Years Old is inspired by takes Aston Martin’s 1930s-era factory team car, LM10, which debuted at the Le Mans race in 1932. The whisky itself emerges from Spanish oak casks and is said to contain notes of smoke and spice.

The Bowmore 15 Years Old is inspired by the Atom – an Aston Martin concept car – with the whisky being matured in first-fill bourbon casks.

Finally, the Bowmore 18 Years Old is inspired by the Aston Martin DB Mark III, with the whisky being aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Spanish sherry casks.

The entire Bowmore Designed by Aston Martin series is being made available beginning in August 2021, at duty free venues in airports in Frankfurt, Hainan, Istanbul, London [Heathrow] and Taiwan.

The Bowmore 10 Years Old is priced at $63 per bottle, followed by the Bowmore 15 Years Old at $87 per bottle and the Bowmore 18-year-old finishing off the series at $130 per bottle.
