Aston Martin Re-Creating 25 Goldfinger DB5’s

“You expect me to talk?”

“No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!”

Ever since the original DB5 used in the iconic James Bond movie “Goldfinger” was stolen from an airport hangar 22 years ago, there has been a void in the motoring world. But now, Aston Martin is attempting to partially fill that void as they are in the process of producing 25 re-creations of the DB5 that Sean Connery used in the movie – complete with Q’s gadgetry.

“An ejector seat!? You’re joking!”

“I never joke about my work, 007.”

Alas, the ejector seat – as well as the car and tire-shredders attached to the wheel hub – will not be dutifully remade but may receive aesthetic treatments. Similarly, fake guns will be installed where guns were depicted on the car in the movie. However, many of the non-lethal gadgets will be re-produced by Aston Martin, which is why the cars will not be road legal when they become available in 2020 for what is expected to be between $2-$4 million apiece.
