Audi Debuts Tablet At CES 2015

Not only did Audi drive a pilotless car 550 miles from Stanford to Las Vegas for this year’s International Consumer Electronic Show [CES] – they also unveiled an in-car tablet device – the first car manufacturer to offer such a device. The Android-based tablet replaces the rear entertainment screens prominent in so many vehicles these days and is primarily designed to handle in-car tasks such as climate control, infortainment choices and other functions [though it does have internet functionality with the car’s wifi]. Additionally, the tablet will work outside of the vehicle but if not returned to its in-car docking station within a month, it will lock itself.

Audi will make the in-car tablet will be available in their Q7 vehicles later in 2015.

The International CES is held in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2015.
