Audi Goes With Sauber For Formula One Team

Audi has decided on Sauber as their team of choice when they officially enter Formula One racing in the 2026 season. Audi will purchase a stake in the Swiss team – formally making it Audi’s factory entrant – and Audi is currently designing an engine for which coincides with the introduction of Formula 1’s new power-unit regulations for 2026.

Sauber, who is currently associated with Alfa Romeo, is ending that branding collaboration in 2023 and will race in 2024 and 2025 with their current engine supplier, Ferrari.

Audi is a part of the same Volkswagen Group that owns Porsche, who also plans to enter F1 in 2026, though with an as-yet-to-be-determined team after their initial plans with Red Bull disintegrated when Red Bull refused to cooperate on the corporate structuring of the proposed new company.
