Audi Set To Join Formula One In 2026

Audi announced they will make their Formula One debut in the 2026 after having officially registered as a power-unit manufacturer in Formula 1 – but has yet to confirm whether they will run its own team or supply engines to a current team.

Audi, however, is expected to take over the Swiss-based Sauber team, which currently runs as Alfa Romeo. Audi announced that they would end their partnership with Sauber after the 2023 season.

In 2026, F1 will continue with 1.6-litre turbo hybrid engines but the hybrid element will supply more than 50% of the overall power.
