BBC Sacks Chris Evans From Top Gear

Technically, Chris Evans has resigned from the BBC’s newest version of “Top Gear” but the widely held assumption is that he was sacked from the motoring show which went off the ratings cliff after the departure of the previous presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

The new show took only six episodes to fall straight into the ratings abyss and has become an afterthought while everybody on the planet awaits the return of the genuine hosts Clarkson, Hammond and May in their new motoring show, “The Grand Tour,” on Amazon in Autumn 2016.

The BBC has indicated that they will not replace Evans but will still try to wring blood out of their motoring turnip with another series begins filming in September.

Evans announced his resignation – ironically, on the 4th of July – via Twitter below…

“Stepping down from Top Gear. Gave it my best shot but sometimes that’s not enough. The team are beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best.”
