Beer Mile World Champs Held At Circuit Of The Americas Track

Yet another good usage of the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas – the Beer Mile world Championships.

Corey Gallegher – a postman from Canada – is your new 2014 champion in the Beer Mile World Championships [see link below] held yesterday at the Circuit of Americas race track in Austin, Texas. Gallegher finished in 5:00.23 and won $2500 for his effort. Gallegher, out of Manitoba, selected Bud Light as the beer of his choice but it was also a smart choice as the lighter beer is a better choice than a heavier beer when running a mile on an automotive racing track. Gallegher defeated fellow Bud drinker Mike Cunningham, a college student from New York.

In the women’s competition, Elizabeth Herndon set a new women’s world record with a time of 6:17.76 and did it with the more exotic New Belgium Fat Tire beer.
