Bernie Doubtful About 2015 Haas F1 Team
Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone has expressed doubts that Gene Haas and his American-based Stewart-Haas racing team will be a part of the 2015 racing season, citing the expenses involved in producing a team. Despite Haas having a net worth of $740 million – of which a significant amount would likely be dedicated to a potential F1 team – Ecclestone says it’s “most unlikely” Haas will be able to afford the prohibitive costs of maintaining an F1 team.
One team slot is open for the 2015 Formula One racing season and applications for all teams interested in joining Formula One for 2015 or 2016 are due by the deadline of February 10, 2014 with final decisions to be made on February 28, 2014.
