BMW of North America is collaborating with the 2022 Kentucky Derby to become the first-ever official luxury automotive partner of the annual horse race, which is the first in the iconic Triple Crown series of races.
BMW intends to use the Kentucky Derby as an opportunity to showcase their new BMW 7 Series – which includes the fully electric BMW i7 [MSRP – $120,000] and the X7 SUV.
2022 Kentucky Derby festivities run from May 5-7, 2022, at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky. Beginning on May 5, BMW be the official luxury vehicle of Taste of Derby, an annual pre-Derby tradition convening 1,200 guests in an interactive tasting that celebrates notable chefs while raising funds and awareness for hunger relief organizations.
On the day of the race – May 7, 2022 – BMW will also be the presenting partner of a preceding race [the American Turf Stakes race].
