The Brazilian Grand Prix has been renamed as the Sao Paulo Grand Prix until at least 2025 but it will still be held at Sao Paulo’s Interlagos circuit – with the official name change reflecting the city’s investment in the event.
The 2020 Brazilian Grand Prix was cancelled due to both Covid-19 pandemic issues as well as disagreements between the previous race promoters and Formula One ownership entity, Liberty Media, over the location of the race [in Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro].
The new race promoter is Brasil Motorsport – a company owned by Abu Dhabi-based investment entities.
