Caterham Wins Lotterer, Sends Him To F1

Caterham is on the verge of not being a team after being sold by former owner Tony Fernandes, so the next desperation move to get Formula One points in 2014 has come in the guise of replacing current driver Kamui Kobayashi with three-time LeMans winner Andre Lotterer of Germany for this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix. While racing for Audi, Lotterer won the LeMans-24 Hours at LeMans in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Lotterer was also a Formula One test driver for Jaguar in 2002 when he was only 20 years of age.
