Charles Leclerc Claims Pole Position For 2023 Mexican Grand Prix

Ferrari got an unexpected 1-2 in the qualifying session for tomorrow’s 2023 Mexican Grand Prix with Charles Leclerc edging out his teammate, Carlos Sainz, Jr. to claim pole position for the race.

All three qualifying sessions were eventful beginning with the first qualifying session which saw McLaren’s Lando Norris eliminated as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was fastest.

The second qualifying session eliminated Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso as Mercedes’ seven-time Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton went fastest.

The third and final session appeared to be a Red Bull-Mercedes showdown only to have Ferrari unexpectedly intervene as first, Sainz, Jr. went fastest, then Leclerc surpassed him to claim the pole – with both going faster than Verstappen.
