Charles Leclerc Gives Wakeup Call To Maranello

Ferrari Formula One driver Charles Leclerc issued a wake-up call to the residents of Maranello, Italy – home of Ferrari – by driving his F1 car through the local streets.

The 22-year-old Leclerc drove on a low-speed run that began at the factory gates, then past the Ferrari museum and down Via Gilles Villeneuve, finally ending at the Ferrari test track located in Fiorano.

“I don’t normally like getting up early, but this morning there was a great reason to do so,” said Leclerc. “It was exciting to get back in the car, particularly on such a special route. It seemed like a fun way of saying we are ready to get back on track.”

The rescheduled season is due to start with the Austrian Grand Prix on July 5, 2020 and a second race on July 12, 2020 – both at Spielberg, Austria, and without spectators.
