Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have reportedly departed from their Amazon Prime motoring show, “The Grand Tour”, after filming their final travel episode in the the series in Zimbabwe earlier this year.
After spending seven years on the Amazon Prime motoring show, Clarkson, 63, May, 60, and Hammond, 52, have thrown in the towel after returning from filming in Zimbabwe – where their British Airways return flight was cancelled and they were temporarily marooned after filming – a special set to be shown later next next year after an earlier special filmed in Mauritania which is expected to air in February 2024.
“The Grand Tour” trio began life hosting BBC’s “Top Gear” show in 2003 before departing in 2015 after Clarkson, in a snit, had punched a film crew member [for which he later issued an apology].
Clarkson, Hammond and May then banded back together in 2016 for the Amazon Prime show and, in 2018, their first season recorded some of the best viewing numerals for an Amazon Original series.
Clarkson and May currently have other shows running on Amazon [“Clarkson’s Farm”, which is set to return for another series], and May’s “Our Man In…” series, which is also set to return with another installment.
