Jerry Seinfeld’s popular web series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” [which just happens to have a new episode up today featuring a 1955 Mercedes and Lorne Michaels] was officially nominated for an Emmy Award in the Best Variety Talk Program category. “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” will, however, be up against some stiff competition, so it might be one of those, “it was just an honor to be nominated” moments.
Joining “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” in the category are favorite from HBO “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” and strong contenders NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Also in the category are HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” and CBS’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
The 2016 Emmy Awards will be aired on ABC and held in Los Angeles on September 18, 2016.
