Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Wins Talladega 500

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finally broke through with a winning effort as he took home the top honors at NASCAR’s Talladega 500 in Alabama this weekend. Earnhardt, Jr. led the final 26 laps in cruising to his first win of the year – but his sixth at Talladega in his storied career. Following in line behind Earnhardt, Jr. were Jimmie Johnson and Paul Menard.

The updated 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings find Kevin Harvick retaining his overall lead with 394 points followed by Martin Truex, Jr. moving up into second place with 354 points and Johnson joining them in podium position with 342 points.
