Danica Patrick Fined By NASCAR For Venting On The Track At Fontana

Kasey Kahne wrecked Danica Patrick from behind at the Auto Club 400 at Fontana last weekend but it was Patrick who was fined by NASCAR after she came out of her car and onto the track’s apron to verbally accost Kahne as he passed by her and her wrecked car on the track.

NASCAR officials fined Danica Patrick $20,000 on Thursday for her actions after a crash, with officials ruling that Patrick violated safety rules when she walked toward the racing surface to gesture at Kahne’s passing car. Patrick has also been placed on probation for the next four events.

Kahne, meanwhile, escaped both fines and probation for his instigating role in the incident.

Patrick finished 38th in the 39-car field while Kahne wound up 28th.
