Di Grassi Wins Inaugural Formula E Race In Beijing

Lucas Di Grassi was all set to get a podium finish in the first-ever Formula E race for electric race cars in Beijing – just not the one he expected – as Nicholas Prost veered his Renault into Nick Heidfeld’s Venturi on the final turn as both were jousting for the victory and the resulting crash sent both out of the race and gave the victory to the Brazilian, Di Grassi, who was driving for Audi. Frank Montagny [Andretti] finished second and Sam Bird [Virgin Racing] was third.

The next Formula E race will be held at Putrajaya, Malaysia on November 22, 2014.
