Marcus Ericsson is out at Sauber and has been replaced by Italian reserve driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, who will be joining Kimi Raikkonen for the 2019 Formula One season.
The 24-year-old Giovinazzi has only competed in two F1 races [both as a replacement for the injured Pascal Wehrlein], making his F1 debut at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix for Sauber, finishing 12th, and then retiring at the Chinese Grand Prix.
Ericsson has been demoted but will retain a seat as Sauber’s reserve driver.
