In an incident that awarded him ASN’s coveted Pastor Maldonado Driving School Award for the race, Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson now claims that he did not see teammate Felipe Nasr when he ran over his front wing while both of them were rounding a corner on Lap Two of the 2015 USA Grand prix in Austin, Texas, last weekend. The resulting damage temporarily knocked Nasr out of the race and Ericsson left 23 laps later shortly with a broken connector.
After post-race discussion, the official words out of Ericsson’s mouth are that he did not expect to see Nasr’s front wing there before running over it on the corner due to yellow flag conditions.
