As Expected, Beeb Gives Jezza The Boot

To absolutely nobody’s surprise, the BBC has elected not to renew the contract for “Top Gear” presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, after Clarkson’s much-ballyhooed “fracas” with a show producer where he allegedly struck the producer after the producer was late with a meal in early March on filming location in Yorkshire. Clarkson has yet to issue a comment on what he will be doing in the near future but a bidding war is expected for his services for a future motoring show on a competing network, possibly along with his co-presenters, James May and Richard Hammond.

The BBC owns “Top Gear” and whether or not Clarkson’s two co-presenters would continue the show with a replacement for Clarkson, remains in question. Both May and Hammond’s contracts are both up for renewal this year.

Additionally, no word has been given as to when – if ever – the remaining three episodes of the current Series 22 will be shown either on BBC Two in the UK or on BBC America.
