Feature Film In The Works On Formula One Driver James Hunt

British F1 driver James Hunt and Austrian F1 driver Niki Lauda, upon whom the film "Rush" was based.

British Formula One driver James Hunt is currently scheduled to be the subject of a feature film documentary from British production company, Deep Fusion Films.

Deep Fusion has entered into a creative collaboration with the James Hunt Estate – Hunt died in 1993 at age 45 – on the film, which is tentatively titled “Hunt: We Need to Talk About James”, and is a 90-minute film that will center on Hunt’s well-publicized reputation as a playboy and adrenaline junkie during his seven-year Formula 1 career, which culminated in him winning the 1976 World Championship in a dramatic final race.

The documentary film will feature unseen archive footage and exclusive interviews with friends, family and F1 luminaries such as Niki Lauda and Mika Hakkinen.

Shooting of the film is expected to begin in late 2024 with a potential release date in 2025.
