Felipe Massa Retires…Again

The 36-year-old Brazilian Formula One driver for Williams, Felipe Massa, has announced his retirement…again. Massa intended to quit F1 last year – and did, briefly – but returned to Williams after his-then Williams teammate Valtteri Bottas moved to Mercedes following the unexpected retirement of 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg from Mercedes.

Massa currently sits in 11th place in the 2017 Formula One driver rankings and has won 11 grands prix and reached the podium 40 times in his 15-year F1 career.

Williams has not announced who will be replacing Massa but contenders for the seat include current Sauber driver Pascal Wehrlein, current Red Bull Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat, current Williams reserve driver Paul di Resta and Robert Kubica, who has not raced in F1 since the 2010 season.
