Fernando Alonso Conducts Test Drive For Renault

39-year-old former two-time Formula One world champion, Fernando Alonso – who recently signed a two-year contract with his former team, Renault – took a test drive of his impending employer’s car in Barcelona this week.

The Spaniard took the 2020 Renault on a 100km test run to get the hang of the newest version of F1 cars since his last time in the seat was in 2019 when he drove for McLaren at a test in Bahrain.

Alonso’s last competitive action in any motorsport was a washout in this year’s Indianapolis 500 in August.

Alonso joins Renault next season, when the team will be renamed Alpine after the French car company’s performance brand.

Alonso won his world titles in 2005 and 2006.
