Fernando Alonso Will Replace Sebastian Vettel At Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso was the top current driver on the list.

Aston Martin exchanged a four-time Formula One world champion for a two-time world champion as they signed Fernando Alonso to a multi-year contract beginning in 2023.

The 41-year-old Spaniard, who was F1 world champion in 2005 and 2006, will replace four-time F1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2022 F1 season.

Alonso has raced for Alpine, where he is teammates with Esteban Ocon, since 2021 and is currently 10th in the F1 driver’s standings this season.

Alonso’s Aston Martin teammate in 2023 will continue to be Lance Stroll.
