Either Ferrari is way ahead of everybody else at the completion of the first testing session for the 2019 Formula One racing season or everybody else is sandbagging. Probably a little bit of both.
But either way, after four days of testing in Spain, Ferrari enjoys lap time gaps of at least 0.3secs to expected rivals Mercedes and Red Bull – and it is another 0.7secs further to Renault.
We will find out for certain in three weeks when the Australian Grand Prix kicks off the season on March 16, 2019.
