A couple months out from the beginning of the 2019 Formula One racing season, Ferrari has replaced the team principal of their Formula One racing team, Maurizio Arrivabene, with their technical boss Mattia Binotto.
Arrivabene, 61, had been boss of the team since December 2014, bringing the manufacturer back into a competitive mode against the dominance of Mercedes, but was unable win a world title despite the improvement.
Binottoa, 49, led Ferrari’s technical department in a series of widely copied design innovations since 2016. It is not yet known whether Binotto will be replaced in the engineering department by a single person, or whether his former role of technical director will be split between a number of senior managers reporting to him.
