FiA Issues Wrist Slap To Red Bull For 2021 Budget Cap Penalties

As expected, the FiA – Formula One’s governing body – handed a wrist slap of penalties to Red Bull for their budget cap infractions in 2021 with Red Bull receiving a paltry $7 million monetary fine along with a similarly meaningless 10% reduction in permitted aerodynamic research.

Additionally, the FIA said that Red Bull’s fine will not be a reduction in their permitted spend next year, when the budget cap is $135 million. The announcement was part of Red Bull’s “accepted breach agreement” with the FiA where Red Bull admitted they were at fault along with the light penalty.

Red Bull’s fine has to be paid within the next 30 days.
