Ford last produced a GT model in 2007 but it appears that the company may be preparing to not only produce a new version of the iconic GT model but also return to racing at the 24 Hours of LeMans in 2016 – which would just coincidentally match up with the 50th anniversary of their victory at LeMans with the GT40 Mark II.
If Ford does announce a return to LeMans in 2016, there are also indications that a new GT model would accompany the announcement and be produced for display at the 2015 North American Auto Show in Detroit in 2015.
