Formula E has officially cancelled the 2024 Hyderabad E-Prix – which was scheduled to take place on February 10, 2024 – after the local government in the Indian city refused to sanction the event. The event had been scheduled before the current governmental officials had been elected to office and the newly elected officials declined to hold the event in the city.
The 2024 Hyderabad E-Prix had been scheduled to be a street circuit near where last year’s race – which was the inaugural race for Hyderabad – had been held.
Formula E has indicated that there will be no replacement for the cancelled 2024 Hyderabad E-Prix, meaning the race calendar will be reduced to 15 races and there will be a nearly two month gap between the second race of the season in Diriyah (January 26-27, 2024) and the third race of the season in Sao Paulo (March 16, 2024).
The Formula E season begins next weekend on January 13, 2024 in Mexico City.
