Formula E Unveils Season Eight Trailer And Porsche Taycan Turbo S As New Safety Car

With Formula One still mired in controversy and a lack of transparency as they continue to waffle on their 2021 season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix fiasco – Formula E is wasting no time trying to get interest back to racing with the release of a trailer ahead of the Season Eight debut in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on January 28-29, 2022 – as well as the announcement that Porsche’s first all-electric sports car, the Taycan Turbo S, will be the new safety car for the electric racing series this season.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S replaces the Mini Electric Pacesetter as the new safety car for the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

In addition to being the safety car for Formula E in 2022, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S will be festooned with the colors of all eleven teams competing in the championship, as well as the colors of the FIA and Formula E and the logos of Formula E’s sponsors [ABB, Julius Baer, Michelin, Tag Heuer, Saudia, Allianz, Bosch, Heineken, Enel, Boss, Antofagasta Minerals and Moët & Chandon].
