Formula One has collaborated with the Tottenham Hotspurs English football club which will result in a electric karting track being built under the Spurs’ stadium. The collaboration is part of a “15-year strategic partnership” between the Premier League club and Formula 1.
The electric karting circuit is currently scheduled to be installed beneath the South Stand of the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – which itself just hosted its first Premier League match in April 2019.
The F1-Tottenham Hotspur collaboration aims to create apprenticeship and career opportunities for local young people – including a driver academy to help identify future F1 drivers – as well as cooperation on initiatives that promote environmental responsibility as F1 seeks to achieve their target of net zero carbon by 2040.
