The good news? Formula One has new owners.
The bad news? Bernie Ecclestone appears to be staying.
Formula One was officially purchased by Liberty Media [and, essentially, its owner, John Malone]. Liberty [which also owns Major League Baseball team, Atlanta raves] will be purchasing 18.7% initially [for 4.4 billion American dollars] in what will eventually become an outright acquisition.
Meanwhile, in the most anticipated anti-climactic news associated with the purchase, current F1 chief crusty barnacle, Bernie Ecclestone, is expected to be retained.
